Job Summary

Provides underwriting support related to the issuance of title insurance commitments and policies.  Delivers guidance in settlement services to fellow colleagues and customers throughout their transactions.  Utilizes underwriting standards and guidelines along with knowledge of federal and state regulations related to real estate and settlement services to underwrite the issuance of title insurance.

Major Duties and Responsibilities include:

• Utilize underwriting standards and guidelines to underwrite the issuance of residential and commercial title insurance
• Provide underwriting support to colleagues and customers
• Provide guidance to colleagues and customers on real estate settlement matters
• Establish relationships with new customers and maintain and grow relationships with existing customers
• Create and deliver relevant educational topics at live seminars and webinars

Qualifications:

• Law Degree required – licensed attorney in good standing in Michigan
• Must obtain Resident Producer License within first 120 days of employment
• 2+ years title underwriting experience with varying areas of expertise
• Knowledge of title insurance rates and rules for Michigan
• Must be familiar with real estate law
• Ability to collaborate, prioritize and provide timely follow-up
• Strong verbal and written communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
• Maintains a professional appearance and provides a positive company image to the public
• Hybrid work environment will be considered after first 120 days
• Ability to work efficiently and independently
